para saber porcentagem(%) de óxido de enxofre:
primeiro saber o que é porcentagem, porcentagem não é nada mais que retirar uma parte de um total.
um exemplo: se eu tenho  5 maças e retiro uma maça, eu passo a ter quatro, qual foi a porcentagem de retirada?
1/5=0,2 * 100= 20%.
veja bem que 1 em porcentagem representa o total, que é 100%,logo quando
você divide 100/5, obtém resposta 20% e 1/5=0,2, sendo então 0,2=100% :)!.
 
logo após você tem que saber montar a fórmula molecular, veja bem 
que a fórmula molecular é SO2, mas como montar?
1° você tem que saber sobre estrutura de lewis, no qual a ligação covalente é o 
ato de equilibrar a última camada(a camada de valência) para obter o estado de equilibrio da substância.
e a estrutura de lewis são os pontinhos ao redor da substância no caso do enxofre é necessário dois oxigênios
para equilibrar o enxofre e alcançar estabilidade,o enxofre possui 4 elétrons ao seu redor e o oxigênio 6 elétrons a quantidade
de sua última camada que você encontrará com a distribuição eletrônica do elemento enxofre e oxigênio,fazendo
K=2L=8M=18N=4; enxofre
K=2L=8M=6; oxigênio
sendo que cada camada comporta este total de elétrons: 
K=2
L=8
M=18
N=32
O=32
P=18
Q=8
pronto entendido isto vamos para resolução da questão!! vamos lá…
 
2° SO2=64g de massa molecular. 
O2=16×2=32g
S=32g
 
sendo então:
(massa molar do elemento/massa molecular do composto) x 100
(32/64)x100=50% de oxigênio
(32/64)x100=50% de enxofre.
 
16g da substância/64 g massa molecular
16/64=0,25 x 100 = 25% de SO2
