Exercício:
quando eu uso o ing ?
qual a alternativa que tem todos os verbos na forma correta do gerundio abaixo:
a) to play-playing / to love-loving / to stop-stopping / to agree-agreeing
b) to play-plaing / to love-loveing /to stop-stoping / to agree-agreeing
c) to play-plaing / to love – loving / to stop – stopping / to agree – agreing
d) to play – playing / to love – loving / to stop – stoping / to agree – agring
2- Quanto ao estudo do present continuous, marque a alternativa que tenha a forma correta de uma frase nesse tempo verbal:
a)Paul is work in the garden at this moment.
b)Paul is working in the garden at this moment.
c)Paul working in the garden at this moment.
d)Paul are working in the garden at this moment.

Ok, vamos lá.
Verbos terminados em -y, vc adiciona o -ing, e mantém o -y.
Ex: To play – playing
Verbos terminados em 1 vogal, vc substitui a vogal final por -ing.
Ex: To love – loving ( 2 vogais ficaria esquisito, não acha ?)
Verbos terminados em algumas consoantes, elas se repetem no continuos.
Ex: To stop – stopping
Verbos terminados em 2 vogais, vc as mantém e adiciona o -ing.
Ex: To agree – agreeing
No exercício 2, a parte final da frase “at this moment” sugere a ideia de presente não finalizado; de uma ação que está ocorrendo; é o present continuous.
Então, a letra b é correta, porque o verbo tem que estar no continuous, por causa do final da frase, que está indicando a condição de momento, entendeu ?
Vc pode ter dúvidas com relação a letra e, pq o verbo está correto, no present continuous. Mas, o auxiliar “are” é usado somente no plural, e o auxiliar “is”, no singular.
E como é só o Paul, é singular e vc utiliza o “is”.
Se fosse de uma pessoa, vc utilizaria o “are”:
Paul and Mary ARE working at this moment. – plural
Mary IS working at this moment. – singular
P.S.: Não sou mto bom com regras, pq não as decoro.. Sei mais por saber, não me prendo à regras, mas espero ter te ajudado ! =)
